  • Is fiendish about sticking to deadlines.
  • Is comfortable researching online with the help of various sources.
  • Is aware of, or is willing to learn about, tools to enhance language skills.
  • Can alter one’s style and tone of writing to suit various global audiences.
  • Is self-driven and motivated and can multi-task and prioritize work schedules.
  • Is open to learning.

Preferred Skill Sets:

  • Is excited about the challenges around creating unique descriptions for various products.
  • Has some e-commerce experience (searches or purchases products online) · Is computer literate, with good keyboard skills · Is comfortable working on MS Office, especially MS Word and MS Excel.
  • Is interested in different methods of communication.

Expectations on the Job:

  • Create short and long descriptions for technical/non-technical products, as per client style guidelines.
  • Identify and stick to a suitable tone for the copy, as per target audience.
  • Liaise with internal departments, and sometimes clients, to check on content, style and presentation of copy.
  • Incorporate written copies onto the website from other individuals or departments, if required.
  • Proofread the copy before turning it in.
  • Proofread uploaded information once it is live on the site, as required.
  • Write on different kinds of products, technical and non-technical, as required.
  • Assist in developing editorial policies and best practices.
