Staff Augmentation
Commerce, data and AI specialists who arrive already trained on the tools they will use. Onshore leads, offshore depth, and a path out of staffing if you want one.
The roles you need most are the ones that take longest to fill
Commerce platform engineers, data engineers, AI engineers. The market for them is tight, the interviews are slow, and by the time an offer lands the roadmap has already slipped a quarter.
So teams reach for staffing. And then the second problem starts.
- The CV matched. The context did not. Six weeks go into explaining what a product attribute is and why the catalog behaves the way it does.
- The vendor sends whoever is on the bench, and the bench is generalist.
- Nobody senior is accountable for the work, only for the placement.
- It never becomes anything else. Two years later you are still buying hours.
We built this line to fix the second problem, not just the first.
Two tiers, working as one team
Hero
Onshore leads
US-based AI and data leads. Client-facing, architecture-grade, in your meetings and your time zone. These are the people who hold the technical argument with your team and decide how the work should be shaped.
Base
Offshore delivery
Delivery depth in India. Engineers who build, test and ship under the direction of the onshore lead — not a separate vendor you manage at arm’s length.
The pairing is the point. Onshore alone is expensive and thin. Offshore alone leaves you doing the translation. Together it runs 25–40% below the cost of a US-only team, and there is one person accountable for the output rather than for the headcount.
Why our people land faster
Every specialist arrives trained on the accelerators and practices we use on our own client work — our product content engine, our data quality and governance engine, and our conversational analytics platform, plus the delivery practices behind them.
That sounds like an internal detail. It is the whole difference. Someone who has already worked inside a commerce catalog, a product data model or a governed AI deployment does not need the first month to learn what your systems are for. They arrive with the context that generic bench supply spends six weeks acquiring.
We are not a staffing firm that happens to know commerce. We are a commerce, data and AI firm that also places its people.
A path out of staffing, if you want one
Most staffing engagements stay staffing forever. Ours are built with a ladder, and you can stop on any rung.
Clients climb it at their own pace, and some never leave rung one. But the option matters, because the alternative — realising in year three that you have built a permanent dependency on hourly labour — is a worse place to arrive by accident.
How you buy each rung, the contract shape, is set out under How we work: Staffing.
What we place
Specialists, not general engineering supply.
Commerce platforms
Adobe Commerce and Magento, SAP Commerce Cloud and Hybris, Shopify Plus, commercetools, VTEX, and custom stacks.
SAP
Hybris, S/4HANA, Analytics, Basis and ABAP — the skills most often short on an enterprise programme.
Data
Data engineers, pipeline and warehouse specialists, BI developers and analytics engineers.
AI
AI and ML engineers, applied data scientists, and engineers who have shipped retrieval and agent systems into production rather than into a demo.
Commerce operations
Catalog, content, merchandising and marketplace operations specialists, where the gap is domain knowledge rather than engineering.
The practices these people come from: Technology, eCommerce Engineering Services and Applied AI.
For systems integrators and consultancies
A large share of this line is bench support for integrators and consultancies delivering enterprise programmes — SAP and commerce skills, filled at short notice, working under your brand and your delivery governance.
We have done this for global consultancies and systems integrators, a global petrochemicals manufacturer and a national digital-commerce network.
This route runs on relationships rather than forms. If you are a resource manager with a gap, talk to us directly and we will tell you in a day whether we have the people.
Frequently asked questions
How fast can you put someone in place?
It depends on the skill. Commerce platform and SAP roles are usually our fastest, because that is where our bench is deepest. Tell us the role and we will tell you honestly whether it is days, weeks, or not at all.
Do we interview the people?
Yes, always. We shortlist against your requirement and you decide. Nobody joins your team without you meeting them.
Onshore, offshore, or both?
Most engagements are both — an onshore lead with offshore delivery behind them. Offshore-only works where your own architecture lead is already strong. Onshore-only works, but you are paying for it.
How is this different from a staffing agency?
An agency sources against a job description. We place people out of a firm that does this work every day, trained on the same tools and practices we use on our own engagements. And we can take on delivery responsibility if you want it, which an agency cannot.
What does it cost?
A blended onshore and offshore team typically runs 25–40% below the cost of an equivalent US-only team. The exact figure depends on the mix of seniority and location.
Can a staffing engagement become a managed service?
That is the ladder described above, and it is deliberate. Many engagements start as a team and move to an SLA once both sides know how the work runs.
Can you support a programme we are delivering for our own client?
Yes. Bench support for integrators and consultancies is a significant part of this line. Our people work under your brand and your governance.
What happens if someone is not working out?
We replace them, and we carry the handover cost. If that happens more than rarely on an account, the problem is ours to fix, not yours to manage.
